The Name
Verni is short for vernissage — the French word for a gallery's preview night, the evening before a show properly opens.
No AI, Ever
Every piece on Verni is made by a real, named human being — never AI-generated. Every artist is manually approved, and every listing is checked against this before it goes live. This isn't a promise we make lightly: it's the whole reason Verni exists.
For Buyers
Browse original work from independent artists, and set a price range to see only pieces within your budget. Every price includes UK postage and packaging — the number you see is the number you pay, no surprises at checkout. When you buy, your payment reaches Verni's PayPal balance and is held by Verni until your piece is confirmed delivered, so you're covered if something goes wrong.
For Artists
Uploading and listing is free, always — every piece you list is included in Browse from the moment it's up. New accounts go through a brief one-time approval before you can list; after that, list as much as you like with no further review. Verni offers one of the lowest artist commission rates online, charged only when a piece sells. Your personal rate stays private in your account, and PayPal checkout and payout fees also apply. Want extra visibility? Boost any piece for a small one-off cost to put it on the curated front page for a week, or spend a Promote Token instead — you get one free every month, plus more for referring other artists who join.
Payments & Protection
Checkout runs through PayPal. Verni holds the payment in its PayPal balance until delivery is confirmed, then pays the artist their share after commission and PayPal fees. That protects buyers from paying for something that never arrives, and protects artists from disputes after a fair sale.
