Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 16 September 2026

1. About Verni

Verni ("we", "us") operates a UK-based online marketplace that connects independent artists with collectors. These terms govern your use of the website verni.co.uk and any purchases or sales made through it.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to use Verni. You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. For artists

  • You may only list original, human-made work that you created and have the right to sell. AI-generated or mass-produced work is not permitted.
  • Listings are checked by Verni before they go live. We may decline or remove a listing that does not meet our standards.
  • Verni offers one of the lowest commission rates for artists online. Your agreed rate is shown privately in your account and frozen on each order. You also pay PayPal's checkout and payout fees; estimates appear while you set the price, but actual fees can vary. The price you set includes UK delivery.
  • You are responsible for packing and posting the artwork safely, using a tracked and insured service that covers the value of the piece. Damage or loss in transit is a matter between you and your carrier and is not covered by Verni.
  • Limited edition prints sold on Verni must be signed and numbered by the artist.
  • Your payment is released once the buyer confirms the artwork has arrived.

4. For buyers

  • Payment is taken at checkout and held by Verni until you confirm the artwork has arrived.
  • When your order arrives, confirm it in your account. If everything is fine, your confirmation releases the payment to the artist. If there is a problem, raise it through the order thread first.
  • If you and the artist cannot resolve an issue, either side may escalate the order to Verni. Misuse of the escalation process may affect your access to the platform.

5. Messaging

All contact between buyers and artists happens through the Verni messaging system. Sharing personal contact details to arrange payment outside Verni is not allowed and removes the protection these terms provide.

6. Promote tokens

Promote tokens let artists boost the visibility of their listings. Tokens are non-refundable once a promotion has started. Featured, promoted and spotlight placement is set by the system and cannot be self-assigned.

7. Content & copyright

Artists keep the copyright in their work. By listing on Verni you grant us a licence to display your images and descriptions for the purpose of selling the work. You must not list work that infringes anyone else's rights.

8. Suspensions

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, that mislead buyers, or that attempt to move transactions off the platform.

9. Contact

If you need help, message us through the Verni messaging system or email admin@verni.co.uk.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Verni after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These are starter terms and not legal advice. Have a qualified professional review them before relying on them for your business.
